To study in Australia you need a confirmed place (CoE), genuine temporary entrant (GTE) evidence, financial proof, English scores, and health insurance (OSHC).

Before you apply

  • Valid passport (6+ months validity recommended)
  • Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) from CRICOS-registered institution
  • IELTS / PTE meeting course requirement (often 6.0–6.5 overall)
  • Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for full study period
  • Proof of funds: tuition + living costs (requirements vary by provider)
  • GTE statement explaining study goals and home-country ties
  • Academic transcripts, certificates, and work history

Financial evidence

Students must show they can cover tuition, travel, and living expenses. Acceptable sources include personal bank statements, education loans, or sponsor documents with relationship proof.

Processing time

Apply as early as possible — many applications are decided within 4–8 weeks, but peak periods are slower. Never book non-refundable flights before visa grant.

After arrival

  • Work rights: usually 48 hours per fortnight during term
  • Post-study work visas may apply after eligible degrees
  • Update address and enrolment with your institution
